Half or Full-Day Workshop

For any manager that works with twenty-something employees (Millennials), this workshop covers the unique perspective of each generation in the workforce, and helps managers develop skills in three specific areas that are critical to work with their younger employees.

Section Participants will...
The Millennials Describe the unique needs of the Millennial generation and their potential sway and impact on the workforce during the next ten to fifteen years
  Understand the differences in perspective of each generation and how that affects their interactions in the workplace:
• The Builders (1925 - 1945)
• The Baby Boomers (1946 - 1964)
• Generation X (1965 - 1977)
• The Millennials (1978 - 1996)
  Examine the science behind the data about the Millennials in the Generational Rapport Inventory
Vision Skills: Help Them See Show Millennials the big picture when assigning tasks to help them see the larger connections to what they do
  Connect the dots between the activity at hand to a cause or to something the Millennial employee values to help them engage
  Include the details when needed and avoid assumptions about aspects of a job some people may take for granted
Communication Skills: Be Heard Build a professional and sincere relationship with the Millennial employee to gain credibility with them
  Be Positive When correcting the Millennials to steer clear of defensiveness and conflict
  Separate themselves from the often harsh-seeming communication style of the Millennials and not take things personally.
Adapting Skills: Play to Their Strengths Harness the considerable imagination of the Millennials to solve problems and keep them engaged.
  Create the right rewards for a generation that has been recognized for every acheivement large and small
  Be flexible to allow for different working styles and focus more on results (what) than how things are done.
