A Need to Focus on Change Management
OREM, Utah – Jan 20, 2009 – Leadership development company behind “Who Moved My Cheese?”, Spencer Johnson Partners, announced today that it has been re-created as Red Tree Leadership, effective February 1, 2009.
CEO Curtis Bateman said the new direction for Red Tree does not affect the company’s original mission, which is to offer simple, easy yet effective tools that assist organizations to deal with change and produce results through their people.
“The new company, new name and new approach allow us to start from scratch and build a new brand in the training world,” said Bateman. “Now we are not tied to one content generator – one author – one set of ideas. Our business model allows us to partner with best in class content providers, thus allowing us to provide our clients best of breed solutions.”
The company’s name and logo – Red Tree – is a symbol of strength and growth, according to Bateman.
“A tree gives us the chance to talk about growth, change and many metaphors that are relevant to how we think of what we do and what we offer our clients,” Bateman said. “It also symbolizes opportunities to expand beyond one single product brand and start to create a broader set of solutions to meet customers’ needs.”
One thing that Red Tree focuses on is change management. This is particularly useful in this economic downturn when every corporation is facing a certain amount of change.
“When companies talk about developing new strategies and structures, they are really talking about change,” said Curt Garbett, vice president of Red Tree Leadership. “But people often miss that fact.”
“That’s why change management is so important,” Garbett continued. “You have to help people learn to change, because the ability to change determines whether they’ll succeed in these other endeavors.”
Change is inevitable — even for the leaders in change mangement.
