OREM, Utah – June 4, 2009 – Red Tree Leadership and Development, a Utah-based company known for its work with “Who Moved My Cheese?” and “One Minute Manager”, announced today its receipt of the ‘Best Linear Booth’ award at this year’s ASTD Expo in Washington, D.C. In addition to receiving one of only four awards, Red Tree’s Curt Garbett was also invited to present at the convention. Garbett spoke to a large audience on how organizations can develop change-management strategies, how to avoid the pitfalls of change, and the importance of preparing people within an organization to be change-ready.
ASTD sponsored four Best Booth Awards during the convention held May 31 – June 3 in the nation’s capital. All participating exhibitors were eligible to receive the organization’s esteemed recognition, though strict criteria for each award category resulted in only one booth being named per title. According to ASTD, “booths that are well-designed and staffed receive the greatest amount of leads at the conference” and those awarded with top prizes earn the associated publicity of an ASTD award. Red Tree was among the top four booths to receive this honor.
ASTD’s criteria includes exceptional use of corporate logo and branding within the booth’s design, the professional appearance and friendly demeanor of those staffing the booth as well as approachability and industry knowledge, and the booth’s overall design and layout, including cleanliness, accessibility, and attractiveness.
Red Tree was presented with an official booth award on-site and will be featured in the upcoming August issue of T + D Magazine. In addition to being announced as a winner at the Tuesday General Session of this year’s conference, an official photograph of the booth was included in the Conference Daily newspaper. The panel of judges was comprised of industry peers and the local host chapter for the convention. Judges voted based on the above criteria while ASTD Show Management made the final determination of winners.
